The Jasper Police Department offers a free service to the people of Jasper that is directed to elderly and/or disabled individuals. The service is called "R.U.O.K.?" and does just what it says; it checks on their well-being every day of the year. It is a computerized calling system that phones each person on the list at the same time every day. The service not only gives peace of mind to the elderly and or disabled, but also families will enjoy knowing that someone is checking on the subscribers 365 days a year. The whole premise of the system is that your loved one will never go more than 24 hours without being checked on.
